How to make a
Tiny Desk AI video.
Start with one shared photo or two individual portraits. Set your duration and resolution, then generate a new bookshelf desk-concert performance as an MP4.
Your photos guide a new concert-style scene. Concert and pet modes include generated audio, while photo effects create silent clips. See the music and performance FAQ for the difference from the original performance.
1. Choose your photo layout
In the studio, choose Separate photos for two individual portraits, or One photo together for a shared image. Use JPG, PNG or WebP files, no larger than 10 MB each. You need permission from the people shown.
- Choose clear faces in even lighting, without heavy filters.
- Keep the head and upper body visible where possible.
- Avoid sunglasses, cropped faces and overlapping people.
Desk concert uses the default Bookshelf Desk setting. Pet concert uses the same desk-side setting for your pet. In Photo effects, choose the visual effect you want to make.
Desk concert
Upload one shared photo or two individual portraits. Create a new bookshelf desk performance with generated audio, for personal concert moments and clips with a friend.
Photo effects
Start with one photo or two separate portraits and choose a silent visual effect such as Earth zoom, Hug, Money rain, Red carpet or Fireworks. Hug needs two people: use two portraits or one photo together.
Pet concert
Start with a clear pet photo and create a playful bookshelf desk concert clip with generated audio. Use this mode when you want your pet to take the mic.
2. Review the settings and cost
Open Video settings. Choose 5, 8, 10, 12 or 15 seconds, 480p or 720p, and 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9. For a portrait social clip, the default is 12 seconds at 720p and 9:16, costing 10 credits.
| Length | 480p | 720p |
|---|---|---|
| 5 seconds | 3 credits | 5 credits |
| 8 seconds | 4 credits | 7 credits |
| 10 seconds | 5 credits | 9 credits |
| 12 seconds | 5 credits | 10 credits |
| 15 seconds | 7 credits | 13 credits |
3. Sign in and generate
Continue with Google and review your credit balance. If needed, choose a one-time credit pack. Confirm you have permission to use the photos, then submit once. Wait for the current task’s result rather than opening a second paid task.
4. Review and download your MP4
Open My videos using the same Google account. Preview the output, check faces, movement and audio, then download your MP4 within 14 days of completion to keep a copy. AI may change expressions, details or the background; a specific face, lyric or camera sequence is not guaranteed.
If something needs attention
If a photo is rejected, check its format and size. If a video is still processing, refresh its status. Confirmed failed tasks restore reserved credits; requests awaiting provider confirmation should not be submitted again. For account or credit issues, use Contact & help.
